Growing up in South Florida, I learned early on the importance of wearing sun protection every day, which is why it is so ingrained in my routine by now. Because I work in beauty, it means I need to try products! And it’s so important to keep myself updated on trends and consistencies, what works and what doesn’t. Skin is the first thing that shows signs of aging, so I am super obsessed with keeping it protected and preserved.
I’ve tried a lot of products that are perfect for protecting the skin from the sun and here are my 3 favorites:
SolRx Sunscreen
This is a miniature stick of pure zinc. I love how easy it is to use and compact in size. I’ve tried quite a few zinc products and they all come in the form of a goopy lotion, but this one is great because, as a roll-on stick, so there’s no mess. I buy these up like crazy and they last a very long time, unlike lotion. I leave one in my car, one in my purse and tennis bag. This is for when you are going to be directly exposed to the sun for a long time. Because I play tennis everyday, this is the perfect protection for that kind of sun exposure.

Tizo
My esthetician recommended this to me and I love it because it comes both a tinted and non tinted option. Pure titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. The formula is much thicker than your typical tinted moisturizer, but this is because it’s heavy duty sun protection. SPF 40. Free of chemical filters, oils and preservatives. I definitely wear this playing tennis underneath my SolRx, while going for a walk, or anytime I know I’ll be exposed to the sun for a while.
Skin Medica
This is my go-to everyday essential. I start my day with a clean face, then apply this product, for a moisturizer and built in SPF. I just love how light and smooth it feels on my face and evens out my skin tone. It makes for a great primer. I then apply Sadow’s tinted moisterizer on top for added tint and coverage, which makes a beautiful combination to complete my everyday look. If I’m just being sporty that day and running around, then I just wear the Skin Medica, but if I plan on running errands and may run into people, then I definitely wear the Sadow tinted moisturizer on top. It’s great to have options and be ready for anything the day brings!
